The Canadian artist Michael Blum made 12 stones with text for Sonsbeek2016 Transaction. The stones were temporarily placed near monuments and special places in Arnhem. They told an alternative story about these places. The stones are now in the communitydock. I would like to place one or more stones at the Buitenplaats Koningsweg as tangible memory of the exhibition. The effect of alienation, wich the stones sorted on their original spots, will get another dimension when placing them on Buite...nplaats Koningsweg. I have permission from the artist and he would like to see them in a public place so people can still see them.

      Memory of the Ground

      description of work

The work here seeks to discuss the mass graves that so many goverments throughout history did and until now do like in Mexico last year with the 43 students. There is in mass graves a power to make people "des-individualize" by taking off their names in a common grave and at the same time in nowhere. Family and friends can never know if the person is really dead and ultimately when they believe he or she is, there is no body for the service. There is only a memory on the ground, because one g...overment chose to make dozens, hundreds or thousands of people anonymous. So the issue goes beyond the physical sphere but goes to what is named, what can be remembered maybe only by it. Dimension: 10m x 6m

Buitenplaats Koningsweg (Arnhem, Netherlands) is in transit state and transformation, hence it is interesting to think into coexistence of two Koningsweg: Koningsweg demilitarized and converted into cultural enclave and Koningsweg as military camp. The latter shows up not only through old buildings still existing but also through Koningsweg's satellite images. Image where you can view 68547 m2 that have been blurred or reduced to a Voronoi diagram, according to the Geographic Information Syst...em (GIS) used. This masking marks the zone as restricted and inaccessible to public, which remember the idea of how “the map, perhaps the central referent of geography, is, and has been, fundamentally an instrument of power. A map is an abstraction from concrete reality which was designed and motivated by practical (political and military) concerns; it is a way of representing space which facilitates its domination and control.” 1 This situation of virtual inaccessibility and physical accessibility, bringing together not only the conjugation of the past and future of Koningsweg, but also the transit state which is currently, is staged through a line, Koningsweg's blue line2 . Line that is blurs and disappears by the action of atmospheric agents. 1 Lacoste, Yves. An illustration of geographical warfare: Bombing the Dikes on the Red River, North Vietnam, Antipode 5. description of work

The project brings together different people from the region Arnhem. These people have different age, different professionals, different social positions and different physical constitutions. In this participatory project these people come along. Together they search to (body-) positions in the landscape in which they live. The project is a joint creative process in the public space. The residents occupy (again) their town. What makes the town with human bodies? How can the body respond to to...wn? The project with residents who are invited to participate, promotes the collaborative for a creative action. The result is a parcourse of body-sculptures, the forming a "social sculpture" (Joseph Beuys). People who would otherwise never have met, work together temporarily. People who never thought that they can, move performative, show themselves with their bodies and their experiences of life. And other people from Arnhem can they see! The CORPS URBAIN project investigates the use of public space, according to the individual body, using the public spaces and the relation between body and sculpture. The center Is the human body, specifically the bodies of the inhabitants of the District Arnhem.

Using a simple pvc transparent film - h 50 cm x 300 mt - it's possible to delimit a small area creating four transparent walls. A place where man can not access but thanks to the transparent film, it will be possible to observe how the nature will grow undisturbed. As well as... description of work

Zeven gazebos The project is composed of seven wooden pavilions situated in the empty field of the eastern side of the terrain. These gazebos would be made in a very simple timber structure which would be recovered with a white camouflage netting. This netting/curtain would be only fixed on the roof of the structure in order to allow the wind comes through it. Each small pavilion represents a mental space in which people can meditate - a space as the witness of the history : past, present and... future. You can also use these gazebos as rooms for installations and exhibitions as well. Depending on the budget, you can choose to build just one gazebo. The quantity of the structures and their dimensions do not count in the project : the main aim is to feel the memory of the place through the architecture. Technical information : Surface area : 5.85 m2 Height : 270 cm Material : wooden boards and white camouflage netting

Trees sound of the seven Chakra

      description of work

Staging Installation with material found on this site. installation Art Land Art Artist: Valeria Finazzi Project Title: Trees sound of the seven Chakra man | man-nature | magic involved disciplines: visual arts project: The project that I propose and illustrated in the attached sketches, is specifically an art installation in the round, can be installed in a permanent form, through the assembly, processing, painting and engraving on wood logs destined to be burned. The work ranging in size th...an the pieces assembled, however comprendibile in sizes limit of space, in keeping with the theme man natural magic man. L 'is the maximum height of two meters, the work will be done with wood of various natures and of various shapes. In summary, three groups of trees sound painted with the colors of the seven chakras. Every single tree is made by the assembly of multiple strains circulars previously cut to size, allowing the carved piece of wood, log, playing and come back magically to life. In fact, as shown in the sketch, each single strain Painting in pre assembly, is engraved with a particular method, so as to become a kind of musical instrument that emits a sound (like xylophone) and that sounds really through the use of his hand and wand. Each strain has its own sound, which is as if speaking of the origins of matter, a voice that stands out in strain to strain, from tree to tree. An alchemy, which allow the wood to play, a hoarse sound in some cases, a sound silent but hot at times strangled, humble, natural ... but it is a real animated voice that comes back to give life to dead trunks, cut felled to be burned and become ashes. I got inspiration for the development of this project, from large international contemporary artist Pinuccio Scioli that with the same particular method makes playing the sandstones Sardinian and he taught me some techniques in his workshop in San sperate city, not far from where I live. Another important key factor in the choice of my project is to allocate the seven colors of the chakras to my installation, is a work of the soul, a work that generates emotion, a living work, who speaks and vibrates through the sound particles telluric body of the spectator, is an interactive work that generates pure emotion. According to some philosophies and religious doctrines, the chakras are human strengths, sometimes associated with ganglia (Granthi) or physical organs, such as would move variously defined energy (prana, or kundalini, or in special cases avadhuti) and the their knowledge is transmitted by many systems of yoga, in different traditions Hindu, Buddhist and Jain with different mappings. Many traditions agree that the chakras act as valves, energy, another evocation of the man and the magic. Each chakra has its center in one of the seven endocrine glands of the endocrine system body and has the function of stimulating the hormonal production of the gland. Each strain will have the position "about" the corresponding chakra reflection, respect the different heights possible, which is why I studied to achieve sound more trees in different heights, variables, attributable to common stature. Therefore trees exist very small, which may have children, trees average small size which may have grown some more, and so on, until the shaft highest about two meters from the ground to the highest statures. The assembly of the various strains is executable through the use of dowels and strong glue from wood, within strains will be emptied in part to fulfill function of harmonic case, and a core steel rods building, in turn every tree sound painting I'll be anchored to other trees, until formarne three main groups, each group of trees is anchored to other strains neutrals always made with the use of wood. Each group will then be placed in the space provided for the work, is a kind interactive work, which will be a meeting point, a leisure area to provide the viewer with a common area and functional, a think tank, a magical place, a place isolate where to find his own soul, stimulated the senses of sight and hearing through the sound generated by my installation of visual Arts. Vagina Tree/ Vagina Fence

      description of work

      1. Vagina Tree Sex store vaginas attached to the branches of a tree outside barracks. A statement and exploratory discussion on the experience of women during war and the culture of masculinity emphasized in war or militarized environments. The vaginas can be beacons of feminity, womens’ body empowerment and a rejection of victimhood, shame and oppression. It also discusses the fetishization of parts of womens bodies instead of the reality of women as independent whole beings. That they... are in the trees is a multilayered statement: Womens bodies are a natural force, as natural as trees and not something unnatural, shameful or to be tamed, as we are commonly presented as. That the sex store vaginas are fake (artificial replicas of a scorned yet prized body part that is arrogantly considered a resource: vaginas grow on trees also a pun about the arrogance of commoditization of womens bodies as a platform for denigration.) creates a dialectic of natural and unnatural. The use of sex store vaginas as media is a reclamation of our body from a commercial paradigm, an attempt to give a feminist voice to these artificial representatives of a fragment of ourselves that are used as items whose sole purpose is to provide sexual satisfaction. Alternatively, Vagina Fence, the vaginas can be squeezed or otherwise attached to the chain link fence at the entrance to the property, with a similar meaning to above, but with the additional inclusion of bringing to mind the specific forms of suffering of female refugees of any kind but especially war. Women are used as collateral to undermine moral by the destruction of our bodies through systematic rapes. Women, with their children, are forced into refugee camps where they are preyed upon. I would like to create a wood or plastic diamond shaped background to which the vaginas can be attached , this background can then be wired onto the fence, smashing the vaginas into the chain link in a way that they are distorted. Additionally, the effect on the vaginas of weather elements can be documented with video/photography on a scheduled basis, extending the concept to include Time.

      description of work

Furrow is a proposal for a temporary three-part site-specific installation piece to be placed within Buitenplaats Koningsweg. The piece takes into account the three different structure types as well as the three main seasonal colors of the area. The main elements will consist of three different colors of rope manipulated to evoke a sense of projection, shape, surface, site, historical connections, and the relationships between them. For example, a structure that is destined for demolition is ...matched with brown rope. Brown is both the color of surrounding tree trunks and dead leaves, but also of dirt - to which that structure will become. During autumn it will camouflage with its surroundings, but it will stand out during the other seasons. Materials for the piece will be limited to 3 different colors of rope, 12 eyelit screws, and 12 tent stakes.
